We want to personally thank Doug and Kathy Wyatt for choosing True North and trusting us to bring their dream lake home to life!

Building a custom home is an exciting and meaningful journey, and for Doug and Kathy, True North Custom Homes, INC was the perfect partner to make their vision a reality. Their connection to True North began through Sam Swartz, whom they met through their son. “We liked Sam as a person and then learned more about his business. Quality guy and a quality business surrounded by quality people,” Doug shared.

When the Wyatts decided to build their dream home, they didn’t have to look far. “True North had us come in for an initial consult to explain the True North way and to meet the staff and see some of their work. We quickly learned that these were the people we wanted to create our home,” they said. Doug and Kathy appreciated that the True North team wasn’t just guiding the process—they were walking alongside them every step of the way.

The Wyatt’s home is a 3,558 finished square foot masterpiece, complete with a four-stall garage, 5 bedrooms, and 4 bathrooms. Nestled between two lakes, their home offers stunning views both from the front and back. Expansive deck and patio spaces create the perfect spots to relax and enjoy the peaceful sunsets over the water—one of the many ways their new home blends beauty and function.

The Wyatt family’s vision centers around creating a gathering place for their growing family and future generations. “We purchased this lake property as a means of having a spot for our family and their families. We took three years to push the button, but we knew we wanted something that would last—a home to pass along to our kids and grandkids.”

A beautiful moment in their home-building journey came after framing was finished, when their children and grandchildren gathered to write Bible verses throughout different areas of the home. This special touch ensures the home is not just a physical space but a reflection of their family’s values, faith, and love.

With breathtaking views of both lakes, the Wyatts prioritized an open design with ample interior and exterior space. “The great room will be perfect. From sitting in that room, we’ll be able to see both lakes out the large open windows and doors,” they said. They also included a work-friendly home office and designed their garage, patio, and deck areas to host large gatherings. From peaceful evenings with family to welcoming friends and neighbors, their home is truly built for connection and celebration.

True North’s expertise helped Doug and Kathy bring their dream to life—from the thoughtful design to the perfect placement of their home on the lot. “True North gets a lot of credit for what we ended up with in a lake home,” they said.
