Professional Career

Sam Swartz has an entrepreneurial spirit, a passion for custom home building, and a history of success.

True North, a beacon of personal guidance for Sam, mirrors the role your new home will play in your life. Sam’s extensive experience in the building business has taught him the joy of collaborating with future custom-home owners, helping them transform their dreams into reality. This profound understanding led to the inception of True North.

Sam, a true local, was born and raised in Lincoln. After graduating from Lincoln Christian High School, he pursued his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business from Doane University. His journey in the business world began with two Fortune 100 companies, but it was his local connections and understanding that propelled his photography business and contributed to an Omaha firm's growth, serving over 15,000 customers in the area.

In the construction industry, Sam found his calling helping people build comfortable custom homes they feel proud of. Homes that are built right the first time. Sam’s business and project management acumen sets True North apart from other builders in the area—and his strong relationships with area contractors. It is Sam himself who handpicks the perfect craftsmen for each and every homebuilding project. In many cases, Sam's relationship with skilled, local tradesmen has evolved into a personal friendship—and that leads to a positive process where everyone can work to their utmost ability to create your perfect home.

To Sam, the True North concept is perfect for custom home building. Call him today and let True North help you find your North Star in a beautiful, brand-new custom home.

Getting Personal

Sam believes that if he is going to be your builder, it’s important to know him personally, not just what he can do for you as a professional. You’ll learn he often considers his colleagues as friends—one of the most important secrets to his success as a builder.

Sam has maintained his exceptional drive, focus and creativity through hobbies, as well as work. He loves to travel and has visited many amazing places throughout the world. (Ask about his crazy eight days pursuing polar bears in the Arctic). He follows baseball, works on his ’72 Corvette, and loves being outdoors and “Jeepin’”. Sam donates time as a board member for the Home Builders Association of Lincoln (HBAL) and his church. Over the years, he has contributed time to numerous Lincoln community organizations.

Sam's dedication to his work at True North. is balanced by his commitment to his family and personal life. He cherishes his wife Briana and their two children McKinley and James, and believes in making the most of every day. For Sam, a fulfilling life includes a harmonious blend of work, family, faith, and play.

Helping the Community, On and Off the Clock

Sam strongly believes in giving back to the community that’s given so much to him. He knows no one achieves success alone.

He has served on the Board of Directors for the Home Builder Association of Lincoln since 2017 and is also currently serving as president of the Young Home Builders Association—a subcommittee of the Home Builders Association of Lincoln—to help create a path for the younger generation working in building industry and help them realize their potential. Among many other projects, in 2021, Sam and the association worked together to put together a new car show as a fundraiser for high school industrial arts programs.

Sam also has given back to Lincoln in other ways, such as helping construct Habitat for Humanity homes in Lincoln. He also regularly helps at the church he has attended since he was young, where he has forged strong, lifelong friendships.
